Told ya. You gotta get out early with this kinda thing or they wont let you anymore. Right now they are telling people to "self deport", but when they run out of "enemies" to torment, they will stop you from leaving.

“US citizens can opt out and request to be verified manually by showing their passport, and undergoing a visual face comparison. However, it seems this is being discouraged, with some travelers stating that officers told them they’d have to wait until everyone else boarded, in order to be able to do that.”
Whatever still worth it to decline. Boarding early is really not any kind of perk
It depends on if you have a carry on. It's stressful boarding with no more overhead bin space available. The airline will likely make you check your carry on bag if you board towards the end, which means waiting at baggage claim.
This may be a perk to some, but a lot of people don't like checking their luggage.
To be fair, the US was previously one of the only counties in the world that didn't have any sort of exit passport control. This is finally joining the 20th century while ironically already doing facial recognition of everyone at the ID check stage to ENTER the airport, which was a totally separate system and unrelated to who does what and goes where. So then turbo-boosting it all to dystopian hellscape.
Every other country already does this yeah ?
