It's calculated how each day is only a little bit worse than the day before... And yet we're still here

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Training for killing civilians.

Fascism marches

It's been a while since the last above-ground nuclear tests...

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Yeah the training ground is already the worst case scenario lol

But I saw somewhere else they said something about war with China so

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

He also endorsed using war crimes on American civilians

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

He also said he encouraged troops to commit war crimes on civilians

I shudder to think what would have happened if a Democrat administration did this.

They couldn't even do a military exercise in Texas without conservatives creating a ridiculous conspiracy theory about Democrats "taking over".

What a shocker, more projection.

Its kinda worse as he announced a special forces group that would be a rapid reaction force to quell civil dissent.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What’s he calling them? Shock Soldiers?

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't recall a name but its hard to retain his um lets call it speech. I mean im sure it will get a name at some point if it does not have one given how he is.

[–] Zron@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Well, he’s going full hitler, so having his very own SS seems to be the next step.

As 'unusual' as the Nazi salute that Musk did. Twice.

Yet we're constantly told pointing out incremental changes in a direction is just a slippery slope fallacy...sometimes the slope is slippery.

This is my thought. I hate it, but it’s what I’m predicting:

With all of this talk about using US cities as a training ground, Hegseth’s spiel about pulling back to handle domestic issues, and this talk of Canada as a 51st state—my thoughts are Hegseth and Project 2025 are looking to invade neighbors and force the Americas into one under US rule.

Canada has resources, South America has resources and human labor. It’s perfect for domination, exploitation, and influencing the rest of the world.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

That's what I think will happen too. They will consolidate their power over the US a bit more and then move forces into Canada. He keeps talking about how he doesn't need anything Canada has (which means he does) but how great it would be if we did become a state. He mentioned it in that very speech.

I hope we’re wrong!
