After Donald Trump on Tuesday suggested cities like Chicago should be used as "training grounds for our military," Gov. JB Pritzker said the 25th Amendment should be invoked to remove the president from office, saying "there is something genuinely wrong with this man."

"It appears that Donald Trump not only has dementia set in, but he's copying tactics of Vladimir Putin. Sending troops into cities, thinking that that's some sort of proving ground for war, or that indeed there's some sort of internal war going on in the United States is just, frankly, inane and I'm concerned for his health," Pritzker said Tuesday afternoon. "There is something genuinely wrong with this man, and the 25th Amendment ought to be invoked."

He shouldn't be removed for dementia, he should be removed for treason and prosecuted as such. Along with all his goons.

That's the correct approach. Keep calling out the obvious dementia, the guy's barely a vegetable. Just look at the recent speech with the generals , the orange turd is unrecognisable, he barely moves.

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago

Also mentioning that you are concerned about his health can help to prevent people from immediately going up in arms by appealing to their empathy (no matter how twisted it is in their heads).

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago (4 children)

And then what? Vance taking power is not what you'd want, I believe

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Vance is a puppy, maga will tear itself apart.

What do you call a puppy with a machine gun?

Sir.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Couch fucking loser is better than the Cult leader.

Cults fall apart once their cunt leader dies.

[–] nieminen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Not always, but usually. We can hope!

That microphone placement is hilarious. Every single time, it's in front of his mouth. He must not have had a mini stroke in a while though, it looks pretty good.

Full speeches: Trump, Hegseth address military leaders at rare meeting in Quantico

That microphone placement is hilarious. Every single time, it’s in front of his mouth.

It's learned behavior. It's how he speaks into Putin's microphone.

But yeah, he has been sounding increasingly mush-mouthed lately.

[–] Bob_Robertson_IX@discuss.tchncs.de 94 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I'm not sure this would fix much...

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 129 points 3 days ago (7 children)

I'm willing to bet Vance doesn't get the blind worship that Trump gets from his followers.

[–] BlackJerseyGiant@lemmy.world 66 points 3 days ago (3 children)

It's a cult of personality, and Vance has all the charisma and personality of a couch.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (2 children)

And Trump has the personality of a sleezy used car salesman but apparently a lot of people are into that

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Poor man's idea of a rich man. Idiot's idea of a businessman. Weak man's idea of a strong man.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 12 points 3 days ago

Right, and Vance absolutely can not emulate it.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

That's a roundabout way to tell him to go fuck himself.

[–] Grimy@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Couch is his preference, not his personality. I'd describe it more as toad-like.

[–] RaoulDuke@anarchist.nexus 21 points 3 days ago

He might unite the country in hating him.

[–] Throbbing_banjo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Dude George W Bush was their guy two elections in a row.

There people are mindless lampreys just looking to latch onto anything that promises to hurt brown people.

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nobody was flying George Bush flags on their pickup trucks though. He didn't have the same cult of personality.

[–] TheGoldenV@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Nah, I remember seeing many “W” flags on bro dozers. It’s the same awful people.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Also Vance is going to live long enough to face consequences.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 8 points 3 days ago

They're like geese, they'll follow anything that waddles in front of them.

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 9 points 3 days ago

He needs to fuck some more kids first.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I think its too late to hope on that point, maybe if they all fall to infighting between the tech bro, christian nationalist, and groyper factions they'll tear themselves apart but he would have to be removed very soon for the country to be salvaged into anything resembling the one we knew growing up

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

JD can get removed after Trump as well. Same goes for porno Mike... And for anyone that goes against humanity.

Need more to join him in being patriots and standing up to fascist tyranny

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 20 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The only way Trump is going out is if we the people force him out. I’m open to other suggestions but a general strike is the only way I can see that is realistic.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The only way he's going out is with a bullet or a massive stroke/ heart attack

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Come on, just a few more big Macs...

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

The short version is that they find the president no longer fit to carry out his duties as president

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I know lots of tankies like to jump in and help the qons out by claiming Russia was a "hoax" when it comes to Taco.

But let's look at the outcomes - if you were one of our enemies, including Russia, you would be beside yourself in how much damage Taco is doing to this country.

It's pretty obvious that Russia owns Trump, but the legitimate evidence of Russian links gathered by Mueller only landed on members of his staff. Even that was soured by suspect evidence (servers in Trump tower, Steele dossier, wikileaks sources, fusion GPS meeting Natalia Veselnitskaya).

[–] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I remember in like 2014 people were saying that Putin had syphallis or dementia or whatever and "wouldn't last long" in power

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 7 points 2 days ago (3 children)

he's copying tactics of Vladimir Putin

Fuck Putin, but he didn't order the army into cities... Unless we count wars, like literally war conflicts, not the made up shit about antifa occupied Los Angeles.

[–] DeathByBigSad@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

That's because putin has already established control, meanwhile, trump is a wannabe dictator that still can't get 100% support yet, so he is desperate to project power.

[–] terabytes@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Look up the 2011-2013 Russia protests. He used the police, not the army, and used them to raid and arrest his opposition.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Yup, been there. I can clearly recall that police also used grenades shipped as international aid from Poland

Pritzker/Trump UFC match when?

[–] PedroMaldonado@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago

Remove this president from office. I'm tired of all the rest of the suits on the hill pretending this guy is serious. He is a Mistake.

[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 12 points 3 days ago

Sorry, Trump can't fight on this occasion on account of the bonespurs.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 days ago

Impeachment is a lower hurdle and more appropriate. But it's no more likely than the 25th being invoked.

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

… so the assumption is that Vance will be better?

[–] ODGreen@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

25th or 2nd.
