In The Prehistory of the Far Side, Gary Larson talks about how some people thought this cartoon was insulting to Dr Goodall. When he actually heard from her, she told him she thought it was really funny. In fact, she licensed the cartoon to put it on t-shirts for the Jane Goodall Institute.

Hello fellow Far Side fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.
The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). Or, he’s coming for the right people. Death isn’t always a punishment. It’s the reward; the end of the long haul we call life. I envy those who get to move on from this shithole.

If you haven’t already, and if a show like this might interest you, you should watch Supernatural. It is 15 seasons long, and I won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say that song is a staple of the entire series. And aptly so.
And even if you don’t like that song, the show is worth it regardless.
