LOL. FIFA, the symbol of international integrity.

Bribing Fifa is not exactly a high bar. I'd be strangely alarmed if Israel wasnt able to bribe their way out of this, like the weasels they are. At least this part of the universe is working like it always has. So we have that going for us.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Thursday the governing body must promote peace and unity and could not solve political issues.

They can promote peace by drawing a line against genocide...

It won't solve anything, but it could help.

But allowing a country committing an active genocide is also a statement.

Qatar hosted in a stadium built by slave labor where tons of those slaves died, so at least theyre being consistent?

[–] DaMummy@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Yes, but they're only killing every single man, woman, and child to stop the genocide. They have to kill them because they're violent. It's what the religious morals teach us.

Has FIFA banned national teams before?

Russia is currently suspended from official FIFA and UEFA matches.

Until Putin greases some FIFA palms.

It's been 3 and a half years.

If you don't give bad organisations credit when they do something right, why would they ever do it again?

They ban federations on political interference regularly.

Killing your other opponents' team is optional apparently...
