About 330 billion of cells are replaced every day - makes you wonder if we really wake as the same exact person each day.

We’re just flesh suits for our bacteria

And some of the flesh suits bully other flesh suits for not being as cool as their flesh suits

lolololo I tell my friends this from time to time almost word for word

Nope, that's an illusion. Even if you restrict the definition of "you" to the metaphysical representation in your brain, that too is something that changes with the years. Although some core properties of "you" don't change much.

Physically, we do not. It's the experience of continuous memory that makes us the same person.

Memories fade, your being changes with the years.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

They do, but growth and change is part of being human. It doesn't men you're not the same person.

Oh I'm confident I don't, but I am partly made of biodegradable plastics and glues that wear out every few days. My physical degradation process is more visible than most.

Ghost in the Tank.

In a backroom the parts were assembled to be Tom the tank engine, a copy of Thomas in every physical aspect. No one expected Tom to think he was Thomas so no one knew how to fix him after he saw Thomas. Tom broke in a way which no new parts could fix.
