They're called anime fans.
Closed captions and subtitles aren't the same thing; closed captions specifically are made for people who can't hear. That's why they include things like "phone ringing".
Once again piracy is the most ethical option
Crunchy Roll gets its subtitles by an Israeli company. A CrunchyRoll membership leads to funding genocide, cancel it today and pirate.
Jellyfin is amazing for rolling your own streaming service and nyaa.si has more, higher quality, sometimes fan edited anime.
Looks like I need to get better at this again. Did it back in the early 2000s when there wasn't a great way to watch anime... then picked up crunchyroll... now I gotta relearn where and how cause as shit goes... good things get worse /sigh
between that, the crappy AI subs, the shitty app experience, and a lack of choices in new shows I've already been pulling away from their services.
Sony really fucked things up, just like always.
