Bullshit. They still got a portion of game pass dollars, season passes, all the game's overpriced mtx, and had a player base strong enough to keep people pumping money into that mtx. The $300 is fictional math most likely assumes everyone who played it on game pass would have bought it instead, because that is how those kinds of estimates work.
If anything they can acknowledge that game pass does eat into individual game sales, but wasn't that supposed to be a loss leader kind of thing?
The amount of churn for gamepass is likely higher than you think (add onto that the lower xbox playerbase in general), and factor in the users who may have been taking advantage of discounts and promotions (like the 1 dollar month), I could see that being a decisive factor.
Remember, the FIFA, COD, Halo, Forza, Gears crowd used to buy their games at retail year after year because they were not on gamepass, or could even be paying gamepass alongside their retail purchases.
The issue is more that the carrot on the stick that was COD on gamepass didn't increase the amount of users compared to the prior retail crowd - if anything, it severely cannibalized it.

I think he's a playable character/character skin in CoD? They're trying to do the Fortnite thing of adding real people/fictional characters to the game to entice people to buy skins. They also added Beavis and Butthead, of all characters.
