Germany just had its reunification day, and I'm confused people already forgot how intrusive and horrible Stasi has been. If that didn't convince people it's a bad idea having the government inside your pants, I don't know what could.

That is indeed the thing I and everyone keep asking themselves when seeing Germany pro-Chat Control. This and the pro-Israel stance contribute to a very ambiguous reputation.
