*Aerial, Arial is a font

This graphic clearly shows the effects of Israel's systematic clearing and destruction of Gaza over the last 22 months which includes the complete demolition of who sectors and the result of severe water restrictions.

one is before the dry summer and one after. you need to do same month

[–] atcorebcor@sh.itjust.works 8 points 15 hours ago

True better not to give any ammunition to discredit. It will have more impact without it.

Yeah, by August the rubble will have bloomed into small houses and clusters of villas, and by September the apartment buildings will be in full bloom again. Not to mention the 1000 year old groves of green life that will remain completely unaffected by this tiny security operation. Bastards always trying to make things seem worse then they are. Fake news!

They're not wrong. The color of the background is important to how you see an object. Using the same month would highlight the effects of the war instead of washing them out in the seasonal change. Using this practically is asking people to point out the obvious problem and hurts the point being made in the eyes of anyone looking at it with less than 100% uncritical support, which is the exact group something like this could be used to convince.

It's about not giving your opponent any ammunition to discredit your argument.

[–] thisnameisnottolong@piefed.au -1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I understand, but that's not the game here. They will always find a way to discredit the argument. You can keep taking the high road but they are holding you to a standard they only apply to one side of the argument. Gazans are starving = pre-existing condition, we are providing food, it's a publicity stunt... They are targeting journalists/aid workers = they are Hamas, they are harbouring Hamas, they were warned, it was a communication error, it was operator error, it was a malfunction.

But don't you dare show two satellite images that aren't from the same time of year, that's clearly misinformation!

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Nobody said this was misinformation, they just pointed out how this could be more effective. Gosh.

[–] thisnameisnottolong@piefed.au -3 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Yes, the date, that's what's going to swing their support... Missed opportunity. Gosh.

You are utterly unable to engage with what someone actually says to you, aren't you?

[–] thisnameisnottolong@piefed.au -2 points 15 hours ago

Hey buddy, jump on in. Gas lighting me isn't going to work. I responded to what I read, I don't give a shit what you think. But maybe you and the other guy can catch up and have a good cry about it.

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 3 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Also not what anyone said.

While I agree with your point, part of the genocide war strategy was to turn off the water.

[–] Todd_cross@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 hours ago

Right, but if you use two green seasons, then you'd see how green it isn't, compared to area next to Gaza

[–] muntedcrocodile@hilariouschaos.com -1 points 22 hours ago

Was gonna ask about if that was the case. But misleading ngl

[–] Damarus@feddit.org 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This makes me sick. I don't think I will ever be able to understand why people would do this. There is so much violence in this world. It's absurd how we just force ourselves to accept it and go about our day. And what else are you gonna do? We can't stop it, nobody can. It's all rotten, and I'm scared that things are just gonna keep getting worse.

[–] thisnameisnottolong@piefed.au 10 points 23 hours ago

Don't accept it. Don't listen to their justifications. Make choices that deliberately separate you from their hate-filled ideology. The more you speak and act against it the more likely things will change. You don't have to solve the problem, just put your support behind change. They want you to feel helpless and hopeless, because they are scared. They are a few loud voices. We are many.
