Welcome to General Memes

Memes for the masses, chuckles for the chosen.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not CruelWe’re here for laughs, not fights.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Keep it light — argue in the comments, not with insults

Rule 2: No Forbidden FormatsNot every image deserves immortality on the memmlefield. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content (seriously, don’t ruin the fun)
  • NSFW memes must be properly tagged

If you see a post that breaks the rules, report it so the mods can take care of it.

Otherwise consider this your call to duty. Get posting or laughing. Up to you

The oligarchy has been using memes to trick morons into gaining their political support since at least 2015...

Memes are slop content that keeps the masses distracted

Opera is not only for the rich. I went to see so many operas in my lifetime and tickets were cheaper than most concerts and definitely musicals. And a lot better than 130 dollar "audio only" tickets for Taylor Swift. I'd wager that all my opera tickets together are still not a full price Swift ticket. And I don't know who the rich opera makers are supposed to be. All classical operas are public domain.

I thought you were joking. Listening-only tickets are really a thing... I don't get why people are so obsessed with Taylor Swift.

It’s simple. They lack a strong sense of their own identity, so they adopt her fandom. They imagine she is a strong, talented person, so liking her fanatically must make them similar, right?

You just described every fandom. The world would be a better place if people didn't feel the need to find their "people" or identity in external (often commercial) entities. Of course teenagers don't know "who they are" yet, they're new here, no need to rush.

If true, why is class consciousness at an all-time low? I see the floods of memes, now where is this liberation hiding?

If true, why is class consciousness at an all-time low?

I wouldn't say it's at an all-time low - what I would say is that the left is at such an all-time low that it wouldn't even be able to recognise it.

I concur wholeheartedly---well said
