What is Inktober?

Inktober is an annual month-long event when a prompt word will be posted for each day of October.

What is Inktober 52?

Inktober 52 is what happens during the months that aren't October. A new prompt will be posted once a week (typically Thursdays.)

How do I join in?

Simply draw by hand something based on or inspired by the prompt word. It can be inked traditionally (on paper,) or with a digital "ink" brush. The drawing can be anything from a simple doodle to an elaborate illustration. The color of the ink is negotiable.

Rules

  1. Be kind. Constructive criticism at most, if requested. We welcome artists of all skill levels and varying levels of free time to commit. This community is meant to encourage people to create art.

  2. No AI-Generated work The marks in your work must be physically drawn by (your) hand.

  3. Submissions must meet the theme of this community Your work must be based on the given prompt. Late work based on expired prompts are still eligible for submission.

From Inktober.com:
Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

Just finished Color of Magic (from Discworld series).

Def some strong The Luggage vibes here.

Ah, man - I really want to start reading Discworld books but I have so little time these days :(

Normally I'd recommend the audio books to hit it during commutes and such, but TBH, I don't really care for the narrators.

I do think they have Bill Nye as Death. He's credited as one of the narrators, but I couldn't quite pick out which character he "plays".

Yeah, I never really got into audiobooks myself. I’ve heard good things about certain titles/narrators here and there, but I just like reading text, haha
