You have to have APN setup properly with settings from your carrier. Do a web search for your carrier + iOS + APN

Thanks, I ended up resetting the settings and it is working again.
The modern way to do this would be to send RCS messages
RCS was and still is enabled.
That is strange, RCS should be able to transfer images.
It had been working fine for the last 2 1/2 years that I had this phone. Never had to change those settings once the initial setup was complete. Started receiving the error out of the blue. I reset all of my mobile network settings and it started to work again.
