I really only watch TV shows with my girl. I do like movies though. The majority of the content I take in is via YouTube.

I prefer games because they're much better at connecting you to a story. When a story game is done right, you feel the ups and downs of the story far more than you could with any other medium. Peak example is Hades. When you lose a run in hades, it feeds into the story.
I'm much the same way. Wasn't really a conscious decision either - it's more of I had better and more interesting things to do and gradually the amount of time I spent watching TV and movies dwindled down to basically zero.
Nowadays I dont watch neither new movies or shows. I mostly watch YouTube and Anime.
I've averaged probably 4 movies and 0.5 tv-series a year for the past 7 years or so. Granted, I don't play video games or listen to music either. I mostly just watch YouTube videos and listen to podcasts.
I've started studying at the university and also I am working. I don't have time for this shit. The best I can do is to watch EU4 (and EU5 in couple of weeks!) let's plays, whenever I have time.
I stopped watching TV and movies, as they all push for something insidious. What could it be? no idea.
As for video games, as you mentioned OP, I'm honestly the same. I'm a gamer myself, but also do other things outside of gaming (as I've shown on Lemmy a lot, including researching some spirituality aspects with Neigsendoig, my producer).
