Given that data brokers are the substrate of a vast privatized mass-surveillance network, by any reasonable metric they're all unsanctioned out-of-control spies as it is regardless of who they then other people's personal information sell to.

Wasn't that already news back in 2020 or something? With soldiers in Irak and Afghanistan giving away details? Why are we warming this up, it is known since data brokers exist.

This is a spying problem that would be genuinely solved by anonymity!
