Just finished Malice (David Duchovny).

Nothing too deep, no really huge twists but an enjoyable enough watch. I saw a review saying "this is what the White Lotus should have been in season 2" and it's exactly right. Good cast and the villain was a villainous freak.
I reckon about 6.8/10

Rewatching Brooklyn 99. Enjoying it, but man if it's not the archetypal show that could only exist in the 2010s

Watching Andor right now. It is as good as everyone says so far. The episodes feel really short, though; I guess I've gotten used to 60 minute episodes as opposed to 30 minutes.

Finished Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I liked it but some warnings. Its one of those series that can kinda move slowly but then very quickly at parts. Large amounts of time pass and it does not make it very clear. For example someone is at war and there is no direct clue to how much time as passed till one character makes a offhand comment of things the first has done for them which would indicate a bit of time. At that point there was sorta three scenes and on hindsite im pretty sure the second one was a time jump as well. Like letters are written at a time it would take very long to be delivered and you may have to just surmise that so much time passed because they traveled so far or the travel plus activities around travel and management would take so long. That being said I again really liked it. Its just so nicely different from much of the regurgitated stuff we have now and in particular it uses sorta the way fairy stories were long ago. Sorta like rip van winkel or such. Even more authentic feeling than the way american gods did it while still making it unique and its own thing.

Gen V

I dumped The Boys shortly after Soldier Boy was introduced. It was too much of the same same. “Oh look another giant cock flopping around on the screen.”

I checked out Gen V because I was channel surfing for something to watch.

I am up too E4 of S1 and it is good. It hits on many of the same beats as The Boys, I do admire how The Boys took The X-Men to its natural conclusion, not only is every super power not perfect they are also extremely fucked up and have serious negative effects.

It is just more supercape shit so I don’t know how long I will last.

Slow Horse.

It is still great. Though it is starting to get a been there done that feel.

Stranger Things

I am doing a complete series re-watch leading up to the last season (this includes heading to broadway next week to see the prequel play again). It is awesome and I am stoked for the next season, and bummed it is the last.

Falllout

I am rewatching this in anticipation of S2 in December.

I started the animated series Pantheon on Netflix and it's really good so far. It has to do with a company that has developed the technology to upload a human brain onto a mega computer. Uploaded Intelligence as opposed to Artificial Intelligence. One major limitations of the tech is that it kills the human body because it literally burns away the brain layer by layer while each cell is digitally replicated. One of the developers of this tech volunteered to test it in its early phases because he had a terminal diagnosis. It was assumed to have failed, but that may not be the case.

It's smart despite the outlandish premise. I'm 2 episodes in and it feels more like a slow burn mystery than most animated shows. There are multiple characters that get focus even though they don't clearly connect to each other yet. Most characters behave realistically too instead of just in service to the plot.

I did read that the two seasons available tell a complete story and it's generally regarded as having a satisfying conclusion, so that's reassuring.
