Agreed. This isn’t a reputable source. Could all just be made up.

“Mom” isn’t doing this unless she’s uber rich. Someone is bankrolling her to try to set precedent.

Related to Downton Abbey, I’ve been disappointed in the Gilded Age. It’s done by the same show runner.

We’ve got so many parallels they could draw to today. But instead of talking about concentration of wealth, and mistreatment of labor, they focus on costumes and sets, and everybody looking pretty. And of course we are supposed to root for the uber rich people as the protagonists.

For example, did you know that one of the architects who got barely a mention on the show was a pedophile who groomed the original Gibson girl? Where’s that storyline?

We did get at least one decent mention of how the Brooklyn Bridge was actually designed by a woman behind the man. And there was a labor strike, but uncharacteristically it was settled peacefully. In real life, all of those people would’ve been shot back then and the rail baron wouldn’t have given in.

So many missed opportunities. But everybody sure looks great!

I thought this was an option. But it is strange that we don’t have “line item veto” in the executive branch, but we evidently have it in the judicial branch.

So the bill contains a bunch of unconstitutional stuff, does the whole bill/law die in court, or just the parts that are unconstitutional?

Surprising to see Monaco on that list and not Hungary.

“The government has long paid farmers to cut back on rice acreage, and change to other crops to keep rice prices relatively high.”

Oopsie.

Do Canadian homes use mostly 120 V wiring like the US, or 240 V wiring like the UK?

It could be better. I read the books and they’re rushing through the story at 90 miles an hour. And they are leaning into everything like it’s all quirky comedy which does a disservice to the source material. The characters are supposed to be characters, not caricatures. You should to care about what happens to these people but in the series they so far feel disposable. They’re also overdoing the voiceovers and on screen displays to the point of annoyance. The “rise and fall of sanctuary moon” inserts are a hoot though.

Someone please explain this to microwave oven manufacturers.

Just what we need. More consolidation. 🙄

😂

Just finished reading an article about how raw alfalfa sprouts easily spread e-coli, but the problem could be solved by irradiation. So why don’t we?

After all, the US is the land of GMO, pesticides, washed eggs, chlorinated chicken, and pasteurized dairy. How could irradiated produce be any worse?

Oooowhhheeee. What absolute turd of an update. Who decided throwing a gagillion movie posters and buttons randomly on a screen was an “improvement”? Yikes.

Why is Cornyn running these ridiculous border security ads on YouTube? Midterm elections aren’t until November 2026.

Great song, later remixed in the 2000s and still great.

Anyone else have the Richard Scarry Puzzletown set as a kid? I loved that thing. It was kind of like a cardboard Duplo set in that you could rearrange the town however you liked.

Interesting article about all the crappy energy legislation being pushed and passed in Texas.
