For those unfamiliar with the network effect, I'm referring roughly to this (from Wikipedia):

Network effects are typically positive feedback systems, resulting in users deriving more and more value from a product as more users join the same network.

Pretty much the question - I know there are some communities in this one and I've joined them, but I'm just curious in case I missed them when I was browsing servers.

From what I've read it's pretty clear these deals tend to do well by the main metrics companies care about (making lots of money in short order), but I haven't read or seen as much about how many people then become returning customers for the original properties.

Anyone happen to have found any reports/mentions from shareholder meetings about this kinda thing?

And what were the dumber lead-ups?
