Puffballs are generally non toxic afaik but if they're not in season they can cause stomach issues. I didn't check this one because I was working but noted the location for next year. I think this one was a little "over ripe."

They're edible if you cut them open and they are white. Some will be dark or black inside, those will cause you trouble.
