Thankfully I installed it through F-Droid, so I'm prettyvsafe withe regards to weird updates being pushed without knowing what's happening. Syncthing is so useful it's a shame it's not good on Android.

Not good on Android?
I've used ST/ST-Fork for 10 years now, rarely have issues.
What's problematic for you?
Well unannounced changes in maintainership and accounts closing unexpectedly could mean something malicious is going on. Doesn't appear to be the case here though
What is syncthing-fork?
It's an Android client for syncthing. It is only one of the available android clients, not syncthing itself.
It's a cross-platform file sync tool. Works on: Linux, Windows, Android, Mac, even iOS (via Möbius).
In fact, the devs of Möbius have financially supported Syncthing development for years. I wonder if they're the new owner?
Once setup it syncs automatically, in the background. I keep (at this point) terabytes of files in sync with it across a half dozen devices. It can be near-instant, automatic file transfer if it's configured to be.
