I'd wager less drunk because there's less money for alcohol. The stupid distributed via social media makes up for it though.
You have to remember this episode came out in 1999. That's before Facebook. Thats before Myspace. Hell, thats even before Friendster.
There's no way social media had anything to do with stupidity when this was written.
Could it be that we are just inherently a dumb species regardless of our environment, food, intoxicants or situation?
The thing that makes this is Bender, off-frame, being drunk and stupid and about four years old or so.
