Welcome to General Memes

Memes for the masses, chuckles for the chosen.

Rule 1: Be Civil, Not CruelWe’re here for laughs, not fights.

  • No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
  • No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
  • Keep it light — argue in the comments, not with insults

Rule 2: No Forbidden FormatsNot every image deserves immortality on the memmlefield. That means:

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content (seriously, don’t ruin the fun)
  • NSFW memes must be properly tagged

If you see a post that breaks the rules, report it so the mods can take care of it.

Otherwise consider this your call to duty. Get posting or laughing. Up to you

I didn’t even notice the category and still got it.

Those aren't the rules.

You know the rules. And so do I.

Has to be one of my proudest moments when I was watching this episode and got it (without meme context) and without seeing the category. If I remember right, the first letter they guessed was N, and I said it before they even got to the second N of "gonna"

could you at least send the rickroll using an url shortener that doesn't use cloudflare?

I don't know how one would check whether a given service uses Cloud flare, besides manually researching. If there is a way to check, I'd be glad to learn of it, as it would be a good step towards moving away from Cloudflare wherever possible

I use a firefox extension that redirects cloudflare websites to archive.org. cloudflare sends some specific headers, and you can also just check the IP address.

Thank you, I appreciate this.

My initial, instinctive response to your first comment was roughly "fuck you, why are you being an asshole when I was just trying to help you to get the joke?". That's a silly response, of course, and I would be a dumbass to take constructive criticism to be some sort of personal attack. I've found that when constructive criticism causes instinctive defensiveness in this way, it says more about the person feeling defensive than the person making the criticism.

In this case, I felt the way I did at first because I do want to resist Cloudflare dominance, but I didn't know how to do that (I could have searched online about it, and I think this was on my mental to-do list, but far enough down that I'd realistically not get round to it). I'm glad that you called me out on this, and helped me to be better equipped to act in accordance with my ethical values in future.

I seem to have an automatic defensive response to rickrolls. after reading your reply, I have considered the possibility that you did not exactly rickroll me, but just sent an actual helpful reply. after checking the lyrics, I have discovered that I have been wrong all along... so yeah, thanks for the helpful reply and sorry for the not-so-nice reply-reply.

btw, if you want more resources on privacy, check this out(not a rickroll or cloudflared page, I promise!)
