Damn I really gotta play that.

I mean, good for them and all. But... I hate when these award shows do this shit. Narrowing the universe of "award winning" games down to "One Title Wins Everything" feels so hack.

That's a fair assessment for the most part. I think a lot of the time it's all just hype for one title, but this game is actually fantastic, and I think it deserves everything it won. I can't think of anything else this year that would surpass Clair Obscur in any of those categories.

this game is actually fantastic,

Without a doubt. It's on my list.

I can’t think of anything else this year that would surpass Clair Obscur in any of those categories.

Silksong, Outer Worlds 2, and Eldin Ring: Nightsong leap to mind.

I haven't played Outer Worlds 2, but the other two, while both great, just didn't have what it takes to beat it IMO.

That's not to say my opinion is objectively right, it's really a subjective question to begin with.

Good for them. I really enjoyed the game.

I liked it, but I was expecting another game that met the quality of Chrono Trigger based on how people were talking about it, so I ended up being a tad disappointed once it ended.

It's nice to see a traditional JRPG get so much praise, though.

Outrage! Scandal! When will the developers be held to account for Gestral Volleyball and Only Up?!‽ Never in the history of video games has there been such an affront.

But seriously, great game!

Oh nice, Blue prince also won best Indie. In general the categories got many different winners, except for the Expedition33 categories of course

Blue Prince was awesome, and literally curled up with my boyfriend watching him play E33 right now (these games make me motion sick, thus the scrolling lol.) I can see why it won so much.

The vibe I pick up online is that it'll sweep all awards shows even coming from people who don't personally like the game.

I voted half and half on the Dorito Pope's website between KCD2 and E33. Basically I think KCD2 better actual gameplay, E33 better story.

I kinda broke E33 in half it's not at all a hard game. Basically Paper Mario design.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 7 hours ago

I love both, but I also would pick KCD2 for the story just because it hits exactly the same as A Knight's Tale.

E33 definitely is more creative and unique, though, and because of that I would expect it to win.
