TL;DR: Chinese automakers saw their marketshare in Europe decline in October. After surpassing South Korean brands for the first time in September, their collective share of the hybrid and electric vehicle categories fell by ~three percentage points. This was primarily driven by a sales drop in the United Kingdom, although their marketshare has continued to grow elsewhere in Europe.
Despite this, Chinese manufacturers like BYD, Chery, and Leapmotor plan to continue investing in European market expansion. They plan to achieve growth by offering budget models and leveraging partnerships, such as the Leapmotor-Stellantis venture, to compete directly in markets like Germany.
