Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.

In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.

Some Rules

Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
Don't promote proprietary software
Try to keep things on topic
If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience
Be nice :)

Instagram is one place I can't avoid as most artists post there and I'm always in need of inspiration

Don't use barinsta or bibliogram, they're dead projects as of now.

Thank you, have been using insta webapp but even with adblock I get shown suggested and sponsored so you may have fixed my main gripe, thanks

An alternative could be pixelfed, I'm not sure if there are many third party FOSS front ends to Instagram.

Does barinista work for you? Looks like it's been abondoned :/

I used barinista and they got pretty hefty threats from insta, I will however look at pixelfed thanks

The best Instagram alternative is Instander and read their FAQs for better understanding why it is not open source from here
