i mean that's entirely due to the ironic nature of "Nobody". The hero is supposed to be an unassuming, normal-looking, non-action-hero-type, kind of guy.
Honestly.... There are SO MANY late career B+ list dramatic/character actors who end up making a weird transition into action-dad that nothing would surprise me.
"Dad Action Movies" are huge and are only gonna get more and more popular as the actors age. Jason Momoa has already done like five.
