There is nothing you can do about it. Moderators will be corrupt. There is no escape. Reddit failed it. Even Lemmy will fail. Corruption is inevitable and unstoppable. I can already feel the death of Lemmy coming in a few years.

Can you elaborate? How would Lemmy die?

Some instances will federate with Meta because its users want/need the larger network.

Instances which do not federate with Meta will lose users who want/need the larger network and gain users who want no part of it.

That's all fine and as it should be.

But the Meta-defederated instances will struggle to get any content beyond an endless circlejerk accusing the Meta-federated mods of corruption because they decided to do something different, as if that wasn't the whole point of the fediverse in the first place.

(Yeah, this explanation is not the one the OP would offer.)

Go start your own instance then? That's the beauty of Lemmy; you're not locked into a single instance. If an instance has these "coRrupT" moderators then start your own instance and host whatever content you like without worrying about being censored. Just know that other instances are free to defederate from you if you host content that people generally don't like.

Well that was quick.

Lemmy NSFW is having a bit of a melt down atm.

What's the deal over there? People throwing a fit because they can't post loli content, or something?

They want to require Photo ID for posters. Like I get wanting to make sure everyone is 18+, but that's just not feasible.

Also they moved the servers to Ukraine, which outlaws porn. Which is kinda funny.
