This is absolutely my favorite game I played this year. It's more visual novel than detective really. You can start the court case any time you want and you'll not know if you've got it right. I've had so much fun exploring the world and 100% completing it. I dont even like detective or visual novel games usually.

Oh, is it really more VN than detective? I'm starting my first playthrough and I was looking forward to the idea that I had to piece it together on my own. Is it like that or is it more that the game is gonna tell you the answer?
It's more VN in the sense that if you explore the entire map and talked to everyone about everything, you'll always get the same information. There's no dialog trees that change the outcome.
But then what you do next with the evidence is up to you. When you start the court case you can basically point fingers at anyone but you need to provide evidence. There are multiple ways to solve it and there isn't one single correct solution. I really liked the approach.
Played this a few years ago. Highly recommend. It got updated with ray tracing awhile back too.
Excellent callout. If you are open to unconventional but highly aesthetic settings and also maybe a fan of Suda 51, check it out.
