Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Of course they did. The only way Dump wins anything is by cheating.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 21 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Are you suggesting he cheated the elections to win twice, and a third time midway but it failed by a botched rigging job? He would never...

[–] TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago

Elections? I’m saying I saw that pocket drop his caddy tried to pull. Fucking evil.

Happy new year!

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

And it works because America doesn't participate in it's own political existence.

[–] TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Sure we do. 48% republican, 48% democrat, 4%… aw fuck.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Isn't it more like 35% Republican, 35% Democrat and 30% independents and non-voters?

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 26 points 6 days ago (1 children)

All of that vandalism will be unceremoniously removed once the regime falls.

There’ll be plenty of ceremony. Years of it. Everyone will fix things slowly and methodically and everything will be half repaired by the time the next doofus comes to break things. assuming there is a next doofus and we won’t simply turn into the holy trumplican empire.

[–] TheAsianDonKnots@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I agree with you, except for the time line. The next competent leader will need to (on inauguration) executive order the shit out of these repairs as well as enact permanent laws that stop this shit using checks and balances. It’s not working when 100% of the house, congress, executive, and scotus are sucking orange cock.

Rules need to change and be codified. This was our warning. Don’t wait for more fascist bullshit.

Don’t make laws to oppose Dump. Make laws that keep things clear with no loopholes, and oppose the greedy fucking shit heads to include major corporations.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

The issue is that the loopholes were cultivated for the purposes that trump is using them for. But he’s using them to create his own, unique keys to power. These aren’t niggling mistakes, they’re holes punched into the US’s power structure to be able to serve a regime’s keys to power. The keys to power in the US are wealthy people, for the most part. Elections cost money! Huge sums of it. And companies have that money. You can’t get elected without it. Necessary key to gain power.

Removing something your keys to power like is hard to do without losing them.

@Soulphite Only Congress can change Kennedy Center's name!
Not a demented criminal clown occupying presidential office.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 11 points 6 days ago

You're god damn right! This pedophile rapist piece of shit masquerading as president has gotta go. It's going to take some time to unfuck all that they have fucked, but we can rebuild. We just have to make sure this shit CAN' NOT happen again... I had hope after this fucking idiots first term came to a dramatic end, but low and behold a broken system fucked us again.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

And the Untied States will change the rules right before the midterms so MAGA can win

“In the interest of unity, we are changing the rules of voting so that only those votes which further our agenda count.”

I look forward to the day we Ozymandias his ass.
