Impressive stuff on a technical level. But also confirms why i was so skeptical before the official announcement in regards to the then rumored standalone aspect. Quest 2/Pico 4 level internal resolution on a game which looks much worse than those old standalone headsets can deliver. While consuming 20(!) watts. Like sure its the early days. But the actual game performance for a probably 300% faster gpu in that SD8G3 compared to the SD865/XR2 is rough.
I followed quite closely whats possible with Winlator(XR) on Quest3 and Pico4 Ultra and it just didnt add up even with some Valve software magic and a bit better SOC sprinkled in.
There surely is a reason why they try to market it as wireless PCVR solution first and only showed off Hades2 on standalone in those hands ons.
Like dont get me wrong: Its still super impressive. But i'm pretty sure there will be atleast a minor shitstorm from people who didnt manage their expectations properly when it comes to PCVR running on standalone.
