Fairly new to Home Assistant and I've been buying tons of sensors and onboarding them. However, with no time to work out the right level of automation and dashboard, I decided to put it off till I have everything in place.
Today, I came home from grocery shopping and was organising everything before the water leak sensor went off under the kitchen sink(Third Reality). It was a slow steady drip from a connection pipe which has just started to show corrosion on the outside. Investigating showed the other pipe also starting to show moisture outside.
I had bought these sensors first since I had seen a dried up water stain and thought if I get to use it, the immediate thing would be at least audible notification. My wife asked why we were not notified and that hit me that I hadn't setup notifications! I now have a very impressed wife with HA and looking to automate more of the necessary things and has happy to invest in the right sensors around the house. Wife Acceptance Factor (WAF) just reached 10/10!!
