Would you be interested in going through crew lists on imdb or wherever and letting me know who the women are? Details on my website.
So you can't read the credits in a Ghibli movie because they're all written in kanji?
I don't know about Ghibli but I have 君の名は。 (your name.) on Apple, and if you watch the English version, the songs, dialogue, and even credits use our letters. If you watch it in Japanese, unfortunately you can't turn off the subs, but, everything else is in Japanese.
Also, Anime News Network lists the cast with clickable links, it's kind of like IMDb... which also exists, I just realised. So yeah, you could do IMDb, but if the obvious answer isn't sufficient, I use ANN to look up people in anime. Mostly because they list the English voices and cross reference them (IMDb does not, more often than not).
To clarify, I can't tell by a person's name in Japanese if they are a woman. In other words, which women crew members have contributed the most to Ghibli, particularly in recent films? I am not including voice actors.
On my website, I've included the names and photos of the women who I could identify, but the rest is elusive to me. Thanks for your help!
