Omedrive deleted pretty much my entire photo library. About 15 year worth of snaps. Switched to Linux immediately after. Deleted everything to do with Microsoft. Fuck them.

Yes, I do hate OneDrive.
The article doesn't mention how it Moves all the files and library folders when it's turned on. If one tries to go look in the folders outside of explorer it becomes clear than everything was moved into a weird OneDrive folder rather than OneDrive just backing things up from where they were.
Particularly annoying when I specifically have it turned off but it already moved all my files into onedrive locations.
Been using this same windows install since Win 7 so there's some cruft lol 7 => 10 => 11
Mine was deleted in 2020 or there abouts actually in my case my login was revoked, they wouldn't let me know as to why. Lesson learned about cloud hosting albiet i had offline backups
Quickened my Linux transition, so in that respect it was a good thing. All in on Linux by 2022
