May this be a sign of changing times. Next up is to audit and re-classify obvious shell corporations. They can pick up and physically move their ass to Delaware, Nevada, or whatever the hell it is if that's where they want to live, and leave their cash behind.

That's still a positive for the average resident of CA as it costs a lot to provide all the favors billionaires demand.

This is what I didn't understand before, about the "they will just leave" argument.

I understand now that their leaving is part of the value. Ultra rich people unwilling to pay their fair share of taxes are a burden on a community in many other ways. Good riddance.

But the billionaires aren't leaving. Their taxes are.

They should be forced to pay tax where they live, not just where their LLCs are.
