Meanwhile, everything we have learned about language and consciousness is explainable by emergent but mechanistic physical interactions.

The meat in your head does the thinking, not some spirit energy blob that has never been measured and is not predicted by any accepted theory.

I can only speak to my experience, January 2024 had a heart attack and as part of that, my heart stopped for 8 seconds.

No idea it happened, had go be told.
