Had this before my current Motorola. It was a great phone. It still works and I'm in the process of de-googling it
My wife is through with Apple and has been on the lookout for a cheaper Android. She's eyeballing the Nothing 3a and cheaper Motorola devices.
Love this phone. Get a refurbish and it's only 200bucks
Boss has the 2025, bought unlocked. Was about the cheapest 'any carrier' unlocked available at retail with 128GB and an SD slot. She likes it. Moved from an android 10 moto
I'm still on the 2020 version and it's been a great phone.
If my next phone doesn't have the camera and flashlight gestures it will be a downgrade.
Motorola forced "Live lockscreen" with no possibility of removing. If disabled it reenabled after some time. Only consider motorola if you plan to change OS
I've got the G86 5g. The live lockscreen can be disabled, there's an option in the settings. You can tell it not to ask again too.
Mine came back after a system update, but that's when I found the don't ask again checkbox, and it hasn't come back since π
It was on my last phone and at that point there was no way of completely disabling it. It was the main motivator of getting a new after trying but failing to change OS. Im happy that they added a possibility to completely disable it by now
What's on the live lockscreen?
Is that always on display, or is it ad pushing lockscreen bloatware?
The name alone doesn't suggest it's a deal breaker. I do prefer complete use control, and don't even need a new phone any time soon, but still.
I like Motorola as a brand, on account of having old flip and candybar phones that were awesome! Hate to hear they may be up to no good in the smartphone business.
1.1 stars with a ton of reviews

It didnt matter what was in the app for me, it was a notification on my lock screen that said "Activate live lockscreen" that kept activating the screen from dark.
Reading what other users write about the app its targeted ads.
Edit: the "live lock screen" seems to be made by Taboola so not even a Motorola authored app
I have the Power 2024 currently and I had a 2021 I think before. I like them. Disappointing they took wireless charging out but it's great to see a headphone jack and SD slot in 2026
I'd say the headphone jack and SSD are a fair trade.
Wireless charging is all but useless - I've had it on phones since at least 2017 and it just doesn't work.
It does charge, but it's so slow to not be worth it, especially with battery sizes today. And it still generates a lot of heat in the phone. I could live with the heat if it charged at a reasonable rate.
But the previous model had wireless charging, headphone jack, and SD slot so not really a tradeoff. I use wireless charging every night on my Power 2024. It charges fully in 8 hours and never gets warm.
i had the 2021 version of this phone (well, have. i use it for KDE Connect and to control my lights). it sucks shit. horrid thing.
What about Lineage OS support?
I hope it's as good at least as in my G7 Power (2019).
5200 mAh doesn't seem big enough by today's standards to be worthy of the 'Power' branding.
The Moto G06 Power offers 7000mAh, that deserves that title. Though I personally have no problem with smaller batteries.
My phone has a 2200 mAh battery, so I definitely agree with you there.
