You do caseless too? I tried that for about 8 months with my 12 mini when I first got it and the paint wore off on all the corners. And I dropped it a couple times and dented it too. I do landscaping so my pockets are always getting grit in them
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
Never used a screen protector and my screen never looked this bad lol.
You don’t have kids
You are just careless. My 5+ years old iphone x has no visible scratches unless you really look for them under really bright light.
Never used case or screen protected; traveled to many countries in that time also.
I just put a TPU film on it, you can't see it's there but it feels like the oleophobic coating and protects against scratches.
Idk how you scratched it up like that. My 7 plus has seen heavy use daily for 6.5 years without a screen protector and the screen could still pass for brand new. It looks like you had loose change or something in your pocket with it.
It’s not a big deal to replace the screen. The digitizer or whatever is under the screen would not have been damaged so it’s fairly straightforward at your local cell repair shop.
I just put a solid nick into my 14 PM. Just got a screen protector cuz I want more trade in value
Why,just why?
Honestly don't know how anyone would feel comfortable putting a thousand+ dollar iPhone in their back pocket...I treat mine like a newborn.
Dumbass
I hate using screen protector. I’ve never broken a screen. I don’t like the added bulk, and I absolutely notice the diminished touch capacity with a screen protector. Good on you for using the device and enjoying it.
And those fuckers get way more damaged than your screen normally would.
Same! I’m always looked at funny for it, but I paid so much for it, I wanna feel the quality of it.
Don’t know why you are downvoted mate, feel the same.
Have you tried a hydrogel screen protector ? It’s almost unnoticeable and it doesn’t add much weight nor bulk to the phone
I don't really like how hydrogel feels, it is not as smooth as glass
Same. Hate screen protectors and hate cases. Used a case once on an iPhone 4 a long time ago, threw it out pretty much immediately. Same for screen protectors.
I’m buying a premium device, I don’t want it to feel cheap and plastic because of added crap. Just be careful and your device will last.
I've touched wood before this statement but I've dropped my 8+ once or twice and it's still going strong. It does now have a small crack and some dents on the bodywork, but it's a 5+ year old phone, I'd be crazy to not expect that at this point.
I'm not one for reselling my devices either, I'm planning on getting the 15PM and will likely to caseless, phones just feel so much nicer without attachments that stop you seeing what you've bought
I prefer a spigen screen protector my iphone 12 (3 years old ) has zero scratches, plus a gold quality screen protector if not betters the screen's feel, atleast keeps it good.
Man from installation to durability and feel this must be my favourite phone accessory ever.
Every time I see a friend with a shitty screen protector I'm like "I gotchu" and I order them one and install it.
They are all amazed by the quality and you only need what? Two screen protectots a year ? Worth the money IMHO.
I rawrogged my s20 and the oleophobic coating wore off in the middle after 6 months, which felt terrible. always use screen protectors so when the coating wears off you can swap a new one :)
i wanna buy it because i have been using my phone without a screen protector, but now that it has scratches do you think its worth it? it is already scratched
i prefer no screen protector. My 4 yr old XR which I just replaced has 0 screen scratches. Just avoid putting it with keys
You should give a tempered glass protector like the Spigen one a try. I was in the same boat as you until I put one on my 14 PM a week ago. I literally cannot notice it unless I take my case off and look for the edges of the protector.
I always buy the absolute cheapest glass protectors now because I bought a $60 one from the Apple Store and it cracked the same way and around the same time a $2 protector would.
Currently using an iPhone 15PM first time without case and screen protector. I love it so far. I tried this with 14 and earlier iPhones and they never felt comfortable to use without a case
I’ve never broken a screen in 15 years of iPhone owning as I’ve always had a case on. 3 weeks of owning the 15pm without a case it slipped right out my hand onto the road. Fucker is so nice and smooth it slipped right out.
iPhone 15 plus has a good amount of scratches from regular wear and tear
15 plus? that shi just came out!
Keys into the other pocket
😂😂😂
I roll the wrangler cargo short with tech pocket. Your phone slides down behind the right cargo pocket.
And airpod case, the edges are the natural predator if any iPhone screen, 1 deep middle cut and about of cat like scratches of top left after a 30 minutes of running
No matter how much I try to remember, my phone always winds up with my keys.
Keys are not the only thing that can cause scratches I never have key in my pocket still I geht tons of micro scratches over time.
I got a pretty decent one for my 14 the day I got it, I honestly forget that I have it until I look at it from the side
Is it me or does the aluminum on the Product Red iPhones turn kind of orange with wear?
it does not look bad at all
That's my point.
Nah that’s pretty bad, never had a phone scratch that bad before in 3 years of use. I use a screen protector for my current phone and every time it cracks or scratches, I replace it and my screen is still as pristine as it was 4 years ago.
Yikes. I’m glad I protect mine
always use proteccshun
Is this the Base Model under Product Red?
I have never put on a screen protector and also never had this kind of damage to my screen.
lucky guy. mine got scratched in one afternoon without protection, in three years. at home.
dropped it on the floor, protector shattered, removed it and decided to enjoy it without protection for a bit..
next thing i know, there's scratch mid-display. ever so tiny, but present.
must've been something microscopic in my pocket...
