Can someone unlock a dead person's iPhone with face id if they keep the dead person's eye lids open?

Asking out of curiosity.

I asked my friend. Friend has done this and it works when it’s less than 30 min from time of death. “The longer a person is dead for means no blood flow to their eyes so the sclera gets cloudy.”

Not when the eyes are closed. Also you only have like 3 tries then it will not work anymore. Also if you leave the iPhone locked for like 12 hours Face ID is locked, also after a restart Face ID is locked.

It’s a bit hit or miss

Use a car battery on the earlobes to make it twitch a bit, faking life and attention, as this is what FaceID needs.

You need the pin to remove Face ID, and if you have the pin you don’t need their face.
