Digital art of 3 Anthro versions of animal-shaped cookies covered in candy-coloured frosting and round sprinkles -- a pink elephant, a white llama, and a pink horse. All 3 are looking at the viewer, posing cutely. The horse has a tiny nibble on their butt.

(Pretty sure Fivel's talking about these things. I am unfamiliar with American cuisine, and my only memories of the 90s that remain are of video games)

Why do they call them crackers when they are obviously cookies?

[–] DarrenTheFoxcoon@pawb.social 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Cuz they're made from White flour

Nah, probably because "Animal Crackers" was the original brand name for animal-shaped carbohydrate snacks, and the name stuck.

I deadass don't remember if Animal Crackers were originally actual crackers or just extremely plain cookies. Perhaps both. Quantum superposition of snacks. Crookiers.

And this is even more confusing because now the cookie crackers have cake.
