I had a random thought before we went on holiday to grab my old hdmi to usbc display port cable.

A couple of days later, my wife had an itch to watch x files - the holiday cottage tv doesn’t have Disney plus, but my phone does! Hook up and we’re watching just like that!

What is this an android??

My Android phones have consistently exhibited this behavior. While I use Android daily, I've observed that iPhones offer greater versatility. With the introduction of USB-C to their devices, I believe they are poised to gain a stronger foothold in the market.

Yeah I left Pixels for iphone largely because of the switch to USB as did at least 3 friends of mine

I could do this starting with my iPhone 5s. What’s different about it with the 15? You just don’t need an adapter? Or do you still need an adapter?

Omg when I discovered this with my 5s I went crazy playing tons of video games on my tv. I was freaking hooked

I had apples own lightning to hdmi adapter for years to do exactly that

Most people would probably do this without a wire, and use Airplay to an AppleTV etc.
