MODERATORS

There is a community for my city on lemmy.ml, but it only has one moderator currently, and that user is deleted. Is there a process for taking over moderation for it?

I don’t know if I really want the job, but I’d feel better if there was someone at the wheel in case some yahoo gets on there and starts posting garbage.

That is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you.

I think you'd need to get in contact with the instance admins, ownership can be transferred to users on a different server, but only by a current mod. If the community is inactive it might be easier to just make a new one.

I'm still new to lemmy, but if there isn't such a feature, you should look at lemmy's github repo. If there isn't an issue asking for it, you can open it yourself
