I have started to use these. I still use my AirPod pros, but sometimes I just want more kick to my music and these fit the pedigree for me.

Sony WF XM4 (earbuds) and WH XM4 (over ears).

The WF are my every day pair and I love them battery life is great, sound quality is awesome, noice cancelling for in ears is good. The ambient mode and the case size are both beaten by AirPods though. If you’re thinking of getting Sony Earbuds skip the XM4’s and 5’s and get the Link Buds S. Smaller case, same noise cancelling as the XM 4’s (which is better than the 5’s) and only about $115 on Amazon.

The WH are my travel and “leave me alone” pair. Battery life is fantastic and the noice cancelling is out of this world; completely drown out the noice of an airplane. They fold up so they’re much better for travel than AirPods Max but their mic quality sucks.

I use the Philips Fidelio L3, I absolutely love the sound quality and the way they fit. But these days, they’ve basically become my dedicated headphones for my PC when I game.

They’re still great on plane rides and long trips. All of my music is in Lossless, this was a major factor in my choice - something that supports the high fidelity. I do wish they had Atmos support, but in the grand scheme of things, it was never a deal breaker during my choice to buy them.

I found the price to be fair given their support, their main competitor are the Sony XM4s, and in my opinion, are better overall.

Sony WH-CH520 is what I’ve been using. I found that the more I use iPod the more my ear would ring. Plus the Sony headphones have much more bass.

I have a pair of Sennheiser 58X that are fantastic, but my AirPods Pro are ultimately my go-to 99.5% of the time.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and Bang & Olufsen B7 headphones

[–] mickbanerjee@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Apart from my AirPods Pro 2nd Gen, it’s either Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or Sony WH-1000XM4s.

Lately, it’s been a mix between Sennheiser HD600, Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X for over ear and Simgot EA500 iems.

[–] Total_Apartment423@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anker SoundCore P3 (in ear)

11mm drivers, an o.k. app for EQs and noise cancelling options, but very good sound.

Bought them for 45€ during an Amazon offer.

[–] ReplacementFar3150@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I had that choice to make… I have crappy in-ear’s for 10€… so i hesitate between Beats Studio Pro (for the plug and play features)… and Sony MX5… I choose the Sony for better ANC… I will tell you when they arrive, if I have make the right choice…

Soundcore liberty 4

They are pretty decent.

[–] RacerCG_Reddit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Audio Technica ATH-M50x and Sennheiser HD 560S. The M50x is easier to drive and has fuller bass, while I have to really crank up the volume on the HD 560s, though they do sound cleaner and more detailed.

[–] zumaro@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless. No noise cancelling, too expensive, but better sound than most and very comfortable. On my second pair, having destroyed the first by dropping them, but I’m not sure they are available now.

[–] sicilian504@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My backups are Sennheisers Momentum True Wireless 3. Absolutely great pair of headphones.

JBL live pro 2 tws

Never had AirPods but for $100 these have really good sound quality, active noise cancelling, and battery life

[–] K3ll3rk1nd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sony WH-1000XM3 for longer train rides or when I'm longer on a plane.

I used to listen with my Beats Solo and Sony extra bass headsets before I got an Airpods Max. It was a night and day difference.

I am trying a semi-cheap JBL because I wanted the AirPods, but if I buy something cheap and have no Christmas gift I will have to use a cheap ones for the next year, so something nice, but not too nice
