If you haven’t seen the sopranos, everybody pronounces whore like whoore with sometimes comical emphasis on the “oor”

Words didn't really have prescribed spellings before modern dictionaries standardized things. If the audience could read it, then it was spelled correctly.

Most middle/early-modern English was written in a more "west country" accent.
