After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue.

Never heard of EFF but 0 points for being 10 years late on this very easy and obvious decision.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation does a lot of amazing work to defend privacy and digital freedom. Just to throw one example out there, they released firmware for a low cost hotspot to detect cell snooping via IMSI catchers/stingrays.

Because they're an advocacy group I suspect they stayed on the platform for visibility. I can half excuse orgs who crosspost to various platforms as long as they aren't only on Twitter. But individuals do not get the same pass.

If you feel that way, donating to the EFF might be something to look in to.

Well you probably want to ear about them. Please go fix that.

I understand their reasoning. There is a (good) argument to be made that orgs like this should stay on Twitter if only to remind people to delete Twitter (I believe Cory Doctorow does this with his account). It seems like they thought this through.
