Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

There's also the brick that's used to clean grills in restaurants. I've never used one before, but I'd like to think that's the third brick that I have inside me

Build a community that throws bricks at fascists.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 2 points 13 hours ago

You can re-use the ones thrown at fascists to build with later. Just saying.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

throwing it at a fascist also builds community.

It feels like in reality we do a lot of fantasizing about the left, and never actually go do the right.

Go meet your neighbors. Get linked in with your local ice watch, or food not bombs, or project to prevent cop training facilities or detention centers from being built

People with this platform's more technical background would be really valuable to some of those projects. Go get involved in something :)

Edit, more ideas: get involved with a community garden, see if you have a local tool library you can contribute to or volunteer with, start or get involved with a local repair cafe or meetup group (in my area they dont have a fixed location, so its more like a meetup)

I also feel the problem is the lack of those things and getting them started.

I tried looking in my area and nothing exists in this rural nowhere town in the Gulf South. This area is filled with people advocating for more police training, they support ICE.

I just really don't know how to build a community here with my community being so heavily conservative. The isolation is real in places.

The amount of people who claim to be leftists and yet don't know any of their neighbors' names is staggering

[–] Cris_Citrus@piefed.zip 4 points 1 day ago

I can't claim to be a model leftist, I am newer to identifying with the label explicitly and still figuring out what it means to me and how I can find ways to participate and try to make my community better, but I do wish we talked a bit more about praxis and ways to get out and actually do shit about our political ideology

Meeting your neighbors is a great start :) I only know a few of mine but I'm happy to know them, there are some really lovely folks among them. Though one of them is a cop if I'm not mistaken 😅

Its mostly an aesthetic. Nobody really believes in anything except appeasing the in-group

[–] Cris_Citrus@piefed.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I heard a leftist youtuber online I really like say he feels like most leftists online aren't leftists, theyre fans of leftists, and I thought that was an interesting way to describe the lack of praxis and focus on rhetoric, internet clapbacks, and slacktivism

FD signifier on yt is rad, highly recommend :)

Even rhetoric is fine. Its not as important as oth organizing and infrastructure, but working stuff out, theory and PR do kind of matter.

I think 'fans' is accurate, but in a different way. I have met people who are like deadheads for getting tear gassed, and believe in fucking nothing. Its just like a social thing. Like sports teams. They say some right surface stuff but theres no thought no critique no literacy. I guess id rather they be anarchism fans than raiders fans or milwal fans, but its alienating.

They’re the same picture

Use the bricks to wall the fascists up, it's slower and more painful that way.

[–] MousePotatoDoesStuff@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

"For the love of God, Montresor!"

I'm defective. I only have one brick. It's bilingual tho

[–] null@lemmy.org 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Posting this on Reddit will get you an admin ban for inciting violence.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

People still on Reddit deserve everything happening to them on that platform.

[–] BillyGruff82@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Nah, that brick is being used to build a wall. Anarcho-Isolationism is where it's at.

Edit: After going down a rabbit hole of polcompball definitions, maybe Non-Interventionistic-Egoism is more where I'm at? Labels are hard, but I like term spooks.

[–] Hackbraten@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Valid choice to usw it to build something. To trow it would be a waste of a perfictly good building material. When you just can use a rock with equal mass.

[–] Hacksaw@lemmy.ca 3 points 15 hours ago

It's reusable when you throw it though! Think sustainability!

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can we throw them at leftist authoritarians too? I don't care what your answer is though, anarchy!!
