Despite owning most models since launch in 2007 and upgrading from 14 pro to 15 pro, I’m really enjoying this gen iPhone.

Not too sure if it’s the feel of the titanium, the improved aperture on the camera or finally having USB C , this phone feels like it’s really ticking all the boxes now compared to previous generations.

Sure there have been better and bigger updates (e.g iPhone 4, iPhone X) but as a device in your hands, the 15 has been a real joy compared to previous updates.

Thoughts?

i want to argue the iphone xs because it had the beautiful factors of the X while having brilliant cameras and a beautiful gold. but at the same time i also really like the 13 pro since its more "future proof" now with 5G and a good battery and a beautiful display as well.

All generation except the 6-6S. Those phones were the ugliest with the stripes

I was a big fan of the iPhone X design. Also a fan of the iPhone 12.

On a 15 pro max now, and with the inclusion of USBC, I could see myself using this phone for a long time. Especially with a battery replacement down the road.

iPhone 5 running iOS 6. Scheomorphism was peak iOS imo.

[–] JStoli17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly probably the iPhone 4. It introduced us to the front facing camera and FaceTime. Plus the design was probably the best out of all iPhones. Oh and the Retina display was a game changer. Loved that phone

13 or 13 mini

[–] ShalevHaham_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

5S was just the perfect smartphone in terms of body design, but iPhone 5, because of iOS 6 is the perfect software version of that.

5, then 15 pro, then X.

[–] Darkmage4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

14 pro max is my first iPhone. So, the 14 pro max. Until I get a 15 or 16. This one is Perfect. lol.

iPhone 5.

It was just perfect! It seriously had no faults imo! And iOS 6 on it ran like a dream.

iPhone 11 series was great. iPhone 5s is a close second though.

4S and 15, those two models define what's an iPhone.

[–] Firm-Worry-6815@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is that the pro or pro max shown in the picture?

iPhone 16…when that island become a pill.

[–] saarlac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Iphone 9 was the best

[–] rabbitronin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I haven’t had many iPhone experiences as I’ve only owned a 6 and now an 11. Going to no home button felt amazing and it was fun literally swiping home. I’m hoping to hold off buying another iPhone until something “revolutionary” like that happens. I’m not even sure what it could be. But currently have no interest in upgrading my phone for the sake of it

[–] Y_U_Poor@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I can't choose just one. There have been some truly revolutionary versions of the iPhone over the years:

Original - 'nuff said.
4 - Retina display, front-facing camera, A4 chip.
X - OLED, Face ID.

Glossy Black iPhone 7 plus was my favorite for a long time until getting my Pacific Blue 12 Pro Max

[–] ernjster@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

iPhone 5s is just… the one for me

[–] Big_Dependent_8212@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I always bounce back and forth but I have a 15 plus right now. I love the bigger phone and battery w/o all the unneeded fancy stuff. iPhone is really seamless in comparison to my s20 ultra that I'm coming from. That was a great phone but iphone is excellent and fits what I need: a phone that's reliable, has great battery life and easy to use. The camera I had before was great but this camera is just so easy to use.

Didn’t own each gen, but I have to say, I loved my 6 plus. Had that for years, replaced battery two times, screen once. Since I do that myself, it’s not expensive. Even managed to solder in new charging port on iPad once, but i seriously hated that.

Anyway went straight to X, which I also loved and kept until my 13 pro max, which I still use and love. See no need for 14/15 upgrade just for a bit better camera and a faster chip I have no need of, since I don’t game on the phone.. much.

My favorite generation is the iPhone 5s. Very nostalgic

[–] Harrovac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anything without the dynamic island.

[–] DanscoRed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve had iPhones since 3GS and recently upgraded to the 12. But my favourites are like this:

iPhone 4S due to Siri iPhone 6S due to newer phones getting bigger than my hand iPhone X has it the longest and happy with it but battery was crap and the battery pack died.

[–] banningsolvesnothing@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly this pink 15 has been my favorite phone ever.

[–] camXmac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Favourite gen is always which you can’t afford.

[–] Vichocente30@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Probably the Xs with their gold finish and the iPhone 4, that's peak apple design.

[–] Electronic-Crew2115@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

XS, peak iPhone design. The whole market peaked out as a whole in 2018-19. Innovation was stagnant ever since.

[–] xDeeka7Yx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

iPhone 4, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max and now iPhone 15 pro max

[–] wzdubzw@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

For its time: iPhone 4S

[–] RedMemoryy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Where’s that wallpaper

[–] SaraWinterfox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My favourite gen is iphone 4

[–] RadiantCool@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

4s in white

[–] joeyvesh13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

XS with 3D Touch. Hands down

[–] JoeyJabroni@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I definitely need to up my lock screen game.

[–] PMMEYOURDEBITCARDPIN@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

USB c for almost everything in my life is chef’s kiss

I just need new beats and the gpro superlight 2 and there won’t be a single different connector in my home.

[–] DirtNatty34@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly my 13PM it ticks all the boxes and I haven't found another iPhone that ticked all the boxes like this did which is why I switched back to Apple since leaving after the 5s. Not to mention the BATTERY LIFE is the best I've experienced in almost a decade.

[–] Fotznbenutzernaml@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Generation is the wrong word, because it's the X, but its siblings are the 8 and 8 Plus. The X revolutionized the iPhone design entirely. It was basically the same for a decade, it was a touchscreen, home button on the bottom, camera on top, one off button, two volume buttons and a switch. The all screen front was completely new to this design, it was the first one with dual cameras, gestures, face ID. It was the first time in a long time that truly it felt like everything changed.
