What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

Deebo samuel is who i thought jalen hurd would be coming out of baylor. Dude was a 6'5 RUNNING BACK with alvin kamara at Tennessee, then became a wr at baylor and led the team with almost a 1k yards receiving ahead of denzel mims in his first year playing wr .

Another would be bryce love. Sucks cause he looked like a god in college.

Are you saying that Deebo isn't a great player...? Barring his injuries, he's always a huge threat when he's playing.

As a huge Arkansas fan I was so stoked about the 2008 draft with THREE running backs drafted into the NFL.

They all fizzled out due to injury. I think McFadden would've done better anywhere else other than Oakland first off.

Felix Jones hamstring exploded everytime he got hit.

And Peyton Hillis had to exit before he became a vegetable.

I was so worried about Felix Jones when you guys drafted him

Travis Frederick was up in the Jason Kelce category and a HOF trajectory before his diagnosis

Stedman Bailey and Joe McKnight for me for sure.

[–] FreedomKid7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jadaveon Clowney has had a decent career, but if he was a motivated mature guy I think he could have been a hall of fame level edge or Dlineman.

Sean Taylor

RIP

Chris Henry. Dude was fast and had good hands.

[–] TonyUncleJohnny412@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s back now but Martavis Bryant.

[–] Remarkable-Mind4409@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Our great veteran QB’s right now should be RGIII, Luck, and Newton right now if it weren’t for injuries, as well as Luck retiring because of his line. Now just a bunch of young guys and Rodgers, Stafford, Kirk, Wilson. I feel like usually there are a lot more old veteran QBs lol

Kellen winslow Jr before butch Davis wrecked his leg and before Kellen fucked his leg up in the motorcycle accident....and then raping grandmas.

Dude had easy hall of fame potential.

Reggie Bush..

One of the best RB prospects to ever come out of college..

IMO, he was drafted to a team that simply couldn't utilize him enough..

Sure, he had some flashes and highlights with the Saints especially with Punt Returning..

However, I would have loved for him to go to a team that would have built around him..

[–] JaegerVonCarstein@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Todd Gurley. He was the only reason to watch the Rams at the start of his career, and before injuries caught up to him he was electric to watch with McVay’s offense.

[–] broncofan303@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

While he had a good career and great numbers, I truly believe Brandon Marshall would have been something special if he was able to stay in a more consistent situation, even if that wasn’t Denver. He always stated he wanted to stay in Denver and the whole Josh McDaniels situation really sent his career down a different trajectory

[–] Retloclive@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

TE Dennis Pitta - The last few years before his career ending hip injury, he had great chemistry going on with Flacco.

[–] Chris_Cornell_is_God@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Brian Bosworth. Yeah I know all people remember is Bo Jackson running him over. They disregard how incredible he was before injuries got him. With today's medical advancements, he probably would have had a great NFL career.

Charles Rogers is a big one

[–] dytele@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Chad Pennington

If he hadn't hurt his shoulder he very well could have won back to back Super Bowls with the Jets in 2009 and 2010

[–] ChunkYards@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ryan shazier comes to mind

[–] Citizen_Snips29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If he could have stayed healthy, I fully believe that Sean Lee was headed for the hall of fame one day.

[–] Punchy_Jamo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cadillac Williams could have been a a perineal pro bowler. I don’t know if we would have gone down as one of the greats, but he sure seemed pretty special.

[–] EvanJuanEvan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Michael Vick

[–] Obvious_Exercise_910@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Joe Nameith.

Had one knee messed up in college, played lots of his career through even more injuries, drinking probably didn’t help either

[–] Nedstarkclash@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jamarcus Russell. Just kidding.

[–] slotoqusaip@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
