I just bought a new Apple TV 4K to replace my original version, and it redownloaded all my apps during set up, including ITVX.

No version of this app supports AirPlay, which isn’t anything new. However when I now try to play something on the Apple TV app I’m getting this weird error. I’ve deleted and reinstalled, but still not working.

It was working just fine on the old box I just unplugged; the only different now is the updated model, and I’m using the HDMI ARC port in the back of my Samsung TV, but can’t think why that would throw up this error. Any ideas?

Are you using HomePods? I’m getting this but only on the one I have connected to my HomePods. The one connected direct to my soundbar works fine.

Turn the HomePods off at the wall, give it a minute, then switch it back on.

I had the same issue after I had fibre broadband put in, I switched it all off to connect Ethernet to the Apple TV box and then got that error.

Actually found an annoying but temp fix for this. Restart your homepods through the home app whilst they are restarting play the content through the itvx app, there'll be no sound for a sec and it'll pause when the homepods are back up but just press play again and it should force the sound through the homepods

ITV X app updated today - seems to have fixed the issue.
