I don't see them that often in the States, but they are EVERYWHERE whenever I travel to Taipei and Tokyo. I think most people there wear them as status symbols as the types of people I see wearing them aren't the active types
Apple
A place for Apple news, rumors, and discussions.
Zero in my field of construction at my current job site with 200+ ppl lol
Probably just a matter of chance. AWU makes up a small percentage of AWs in the wild, and you only see a small percentage of all possible AWs in your area because you likely aren't walking around staring at everyones wrists or they're covered by a sleeve.
So now you have to happen to see the small percentage of the small percentage of watches you see every day to find an AWU. Chances are you've been near someone wearing one, you just didn't notice.
I’ve only seen one once irl. It looked cool, but it was on a big dude and still looked pretty large, a little over the top in an office setting.
I was interested in the ultra’s long battery life but it would be too much watch for my arm. I went from s5 to s9 and the battery life is fine, really especially given how fast it charges.
I would say, I see one out of every 10. Apple watches is an ultra where I’m at.
I see them all the time, even on people who don’t look like they’d spring for the Ultra. Kids, small woman, really skinny guys. I see them all over
I see them often
I see them all the time on people. I’m shocked how many I see.
I’ve seen quite a few in the office.
I see them all the time tbh, I work in IT at a high end company.
It's too bulky, I've put one on, and it looked awful on the wrist. I don't think I would buy it if I did some outdoorsy stuff, regular aw is fine for that as well, if you worried it gets scratched get a case for the one day a year when you feel outdoorsy. I think I have to gain like 50lbs for it too look decent on my wrist.
I see them a lot. Dads at the playground, fellow triathletes at races. A bunch at the last running race I did - a 10 miler.
They are all ugly over priced junk who cares 😁
They’re common with the techies where I work. Big, obvious, maybe a sort of style thing.
They are more expensive, and frankly it doesn’t do much that the regular one doesn’t do.
My dad’s specialist doctor has one, and a guy we met at a car dealer had one.
The Ultra users are all at their country club laughing at those wearing a normal AW.
It makes perfect sense. It's self-selection. Reddit is a techy user base, and those who would additionally follow an Apple Watch subreddit are likely the same people who are really into them and would splurge 2x the cost the upgrade.
The vast majority of AW wearers are just casuals.
Because we’re all up Everest
I was down in Denver this past week and saw at least a dozen people with them.. I was mildly annoyed hahah
I work in automation/Tech and the manager of one of the teams has one. Literally the only one I’ve ever seen though
Out here on a cruise and I've seen a handful. I think I'm seeing steadily more over time.
Weirdly I mainly see them on waiters in Los Angeles. Other than that I rarely see them.
