TBF, you do get the Apple suite of office products, Maps, Mail, Safari, and others free. They have to cut you off at some point and make money on their services.
You don’t make a gazillions dollars giving out stuff for free.
Also, you gotta pay artists that are not your employees. Apple could afford to do so either way because it's Apple but it still doesn't make sense like it does with any other app.
Because competitors offer a free option, if they weren't free, they would make you pay for it guaranteed
Even if Apple would want/consider this, they’d be slapped with an unfair competition ruling before you could say Tim Apple.

i mean i actually bought my iphone 12 a few months back and just got offered a free apple music subscription. but idk if everyone gets that. i didn’t accept it because i pay for spotify since spotify is just better

It’s not nearly as good as YouTube music. Honestly I’m not sure why anyone pays for Apple Music or Spotify. Both are garbage.
I think they should increase the iCloud storage size from 5GB. And like they're giving free storage maybe they should also give 2-5 hours of listening time a month with limited features(?) Apple Music. This would also incentivize Spotify customers while giving more for your iPhone ownership.
I was a long time Spotify user then when I got my new iPhone I started using that 3 months of free Apple Music. I thought that listening quality is better. So now I am thinking about switching to it.
That just seems entitled. Apple Music is a separate service from the iPhone (and isn’t even exclusive to it) and the record labels and artists want to be paid for having their songs on services.
We should then just go back to buy every single album/single to be able to listen to their music then.

Like yeah, it’d actually be awesome if you didn’t have to pay for Apple News too or gasoline once you buy a car etc. I understand that may not be feasible under a capitalist society, but it’s as if you are WANTING to pay.

Streaming music isn’t free because it’s not owned. The fact that they must royalties to a third party throws too many variables into ownership and cost parameters.
No cause that’s how the lay the licensing for the content on the app. Without that the app has nothing to do

I'd rather pay knowing it's a sustainable service for everyone involved. I, the consumer, get access to my song library, Apple, the provider gets to host all the songs, and the artists get paid for their work.
More importantly ICLOUD STORAGE SHOULD BE FREE. THE “FREE” THEY GIVE YOU IS LESS SPACE THAN A GODDAMN IPHONE BACKUP

I just saw that post on X (Twitter) last night, I was beyond surprised on how many stupid people support this stupid idea, as if music creators work is not worth the freaking $10 we all pay for the services, a lot of people replying that Apple Music free should be the standard and it makes me think most people don't know how economics work.

The only reason I recommend paying for music platforms are just the ease of use and accessibility to get music… you can just torrent music and send it to your iPhone through iTunes, but that is stressful
